Florida Keys Vacation

August 9th, 2007

If you’re taking a vacation to the Florida Keys, one thing you will want to know about is Florida Keys beaches. Although we’re not famous for having large beaches like in Miami Beach or Daytona Beach, we do have lots of beautiful spots for beachgoers. There are three categories of beaches for visitors: 1.State Park beaches like the one on Bahia Honda Key; 2. Public Beaches like the beautiful Sombrero Beach in Marathon; and 3. Private resort beaches for guests only like at Cheeca Lodge, for example.

The beaches at the Florida State Parks are clean, larger, and beautiful. Usually there are lots of amenities like showers, changing rooms, water, and a concession stand. Public beaches like Sombrero have anything from no amenities to full scale everything you need for a day at the beach. Sombrero has bathrooms, rinse-off stations, and playground. Of course private resort beaches will have top level luxuries like lounge chairs, float chairs, and maybe even drink service on the beach.
