September 11th, 2007
NOAA weather radios are radios that receive constant information from the closest National Weather Service office. These radios get signal from the NOAA Weather Radio All Hazards network that is nationwide. The weather is broadcast on these radios all day long every day of the year. Watches, warnings, forecasts, hazards, and other weather related information is broadcast over this network. If you do not listen to your weather radio all the time then you will know it is a good time to see what is being broadcast when your digital hygrometer lets you know some major humidity changes are taking place. The same goes for your wind speed indicator. All the weather information you ever need to know will be broadcast over these radios. Warning information as well as post event information are broadcast over this network. This is really important to know because when you are in the middle of a storm you need to know up to date information. This weather network will give it to you and more. Other information reported over these airwaves include Amber alters, 911 outages, environmental warnings, and other important information.
